I am starting a new section here on the site to review Second Life related products and services. If you have something you would like me to look at please let me know!
So today for the first review I would like to review a web based Second Life client called Movable Life. The Movable life client was created by the Japanese company 3Di. They are a company that is focused on creating a link from the regular web to the 3D web such as Second Life. The Movable Life client is very well organized and very fast after login. It is similar to the Ajaxlife another web based client. Both of these clients do not directly link to the Second Life servers but connect from the website to another server then pass the login information to the Second Life servers. So one must take caution as your login and password are being passed through another server. So to test movable life out I recomend you do not use your main Second Life account, but rather use an ALT. Movable life is still in alpha testing so not all the features work. Regular chat works however, avatars that are further away can not be heard. As well object and script messages can not been seen yet. The IM feature works great as well as the teleport. The groups area does not work yet. What I am looking forward to here is the ability to add people to a group from this client. This is handy if I can not log in to the regular client but just need to log on to add a group member. Search functions do not seem to be up yet. The friends list works well and easy interface to IM and TP . It also lists your inventory folders, but not the contents as of yet. This web based client has great potential for anybody on the road that needs to login from a place they can not use the regular client. It is worth checking out, but I again I suggest that you do not try it with your main Avatar. You can find the client here: http://movablelife.net/ {mosgoogle}
